Friday afternoon, 2pm, first official week in Hartford. Boston was interesting, navigating and dropping cash as if we had enough to drop and getting up early and dressing up like grownups was novel for about the first day - then it got to be like a boring 8am class that KEEPS GOING ALL DAY. But at any rate, I got myself mostly set up and established here in Hartford, where I have yet to get both on and off the highway without incident, no actual work to do, and many dollars lost in daily parking. An HR mixup in recording my address has resulted in me having to pay $25 to American Express, and one big giant snarled mess in payroll. I won't get into the gritty details, I've already gotten as upset about it as I'm going to get, but I think my almost-empty bank account is taking it the worst. Today I plan to sneak out of my cubicle and down a couple blocks to my car early, but not before those bastids in payroll finally get my check right. I'm feeling iffy about blogging at work, people keep walking by, so I'm going to actually start writing my "what I learned in my internship" paper now. Might as well get paid for it (maybe).
