Hello Again
I'm aware that I haven't posted since May. Not even sure who still has this link, I've been using my blog on myspace for awhile....and actually I've been neglecting that too. Anyway...
It's been an interesting couple of months. I'm a grad student now, went back to Lake Compounce about a month ago as an auditor (decent summer gig), I've been keeping busy. Said grad program is actually the online MSA program at UConn, so I work from my laptop. Full courseload for this summer, 4 week-long break coming up, then full-er fall courseload. The kids from work start going back to school next month, which looks like it will translate into some overtime for me during my off weeks.
Then in January, I start my Real Adult job. The plan is to Scrooge every penny I earn until I have enough to buy a new car, and move out. Then what I'll do is buy a new car, and move out. I'm planning for that to take about six months, in what I like to call Wishful Thinking World.
Now the good stuff...first, I adopted a kitten. Then, I went to the Bahamas in June with a friend from high school and one of her good buddies. Then, more recently, I lost control of my car and crashed into a ditch, somehow avoiding any real physical damage to me or the car.
This week one of my classmates since forever (K-12) died in a bicycle accident. My parents and I went to the wake tonight. The amount of people there was staggering. Saw a lot of people from my high school class. I can't begin to imagine the pain his parents, girlfriend, family, and friends are feeling. He was an only child.
(abrupt subject change)
When I was 16, I went on a high school trip to Hawaii, and came back as one half of a long-distance relationship that lasted over a year. He a little over 5 years older than me, and for a while we were in love. I know this is iffy posting this on the Internet, but I'm feeling a sense of deja vu. I did meet someone in the Bahamas, that someone lives in a foreign country, and that someone is a little older. While I've definitely lived and learned from the Hawaii experience, I'm not completely shooting this down either. Dammit, it's fun and makes me happy, as long as there's nothing stupid involved, like commitment.
On a not quite unrelated note, I'll be applying for a passport very soon.
Busy summer...
